This research study will investigate the effects of Inulin,a dietary fibre found naturally in vegetables such as onion and garlic. It will investigate the effects of inulin supplementation in South Asian and Caucasian ethnic groups who reside in the UK and consume a Western Diet. It aims to address the lack of understanding about how metabolic disease risk markers vary between these ethnic groups under such dietary conditions.

The study will take place at The Centre for Nutraceuticals at the University of Westminster, which will be overseen by Prof. Mohammed Gulrez Zariwala (Director of the Centre for Nutraceuticals) with direct supervision from Dr Lewis Mattin with external collaborations with Dr Ayazullah Safi from Birmingham City University.
